Bob Jordan honored as 2026 Counselor of the Year

At the annual Northern Zone Association of Counseling and Development Dinner held on May 14, longtime Massena Central High School Guidance Counselor Bob Jordan was recognized for his outstanding contributions to students and education, earning the prestigious 2026 Counselor of the Year Award. The evening also marked his retirement after more than 30 years of dedicated service.

Throughout his career in Massena, Jordan made a lasting impact through the development of innovative programs such as Link Crew, Learn to Lead, and Point Break, all designed to support student success and leadership development. In addition to his program work, he served as Department Head for more than 20 years, demonstrating strong leadership and commitment to his colleagues.

Jordan was recognized not only for his professional accomplishments but also for the meaningful connections he built with students and staff. His dedication, creativity and sense of humor have left a lasting impression on the Massena school community.

“Bob has been a cornerstone of our school for decades,” said Massena High School Principal Alan Oliver. “His ability to connect with students, inspire leadership and bring innovative ideas to life has made a profound difference. He leaves behind a legacy that will continue to impact our students and staff for years to come.”

As he retires, colleagues and community members alike reflect on his legacy of service and the positive influence he has had on generations of students.
